ABOUT
ABOUT ME
WHAT I DO
I'm a fourth-year journalism student at the University of Arkansas with a focus in news-editorial and design.
I am originally from the town of Bryant near Little Rock. I fell in love with journalism in high school after a friend recommended I combine my enjoyment of sports with my talent for writing.
Since then, I have written articles on a myriad of subjects, sharpening my skills in writing, digital media and design.
My dream job would be writing long-form articles for a magazine and having the opportunity to contribute visual art as well.
In my free time, I enjoy a local brew, road trips and camping adventures.

WHAT I'VE DONE
In the summer of 2015, I traveled to Bolivia on an international reporting trip. While in Santa Cruz, I interviewed sources with the help of an interpreter on the environmental struggles their country is facing.
From 2013 to now, I have edited, written and designed for The Arkansas Traveler. I have reported for the news, features and sports section. In 2016, I won the Mark of Excellence Award in Sports Writing from the Society of Professional Journalists for a story I broke about the UA volleyball coach abusing his players. In 2017, I also won Best Overall Magazine as editor-in-chief of
Hill magazine.
I have also published in The Idle Class, The Free Weekly newspaper and Hill Magazine.

I have worked this spring as a writer, online editor and copy editor for The Idle Class magazine. I am also trying my hand at radio with KAUF 91.3 Public Radio, which serves parts of Arkansas, Oklahoma and Missouri.
I am now the cop and crime reporter for the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. This job sends me all around Northwest Arkansas and keeps me on my feet.
You can keep up with my work through my "daily life of a young reporter" blog posts.
